Thanks, Alex!

As the year winds down and I look back at the interesting events over 2008, one of the most interesting things, I think, to happen in Dallas was Alex Muse's Happy Hour events for startups that he started back in July. If you don't know Alex, Alex is the entrepreneur behind the juggernaut ShopSavvy and he also runs the Texas Startup Blog. I found Alex's blog through a search for something like "Dallas startup" or something and I'm glad I did.

Anyway, back in July Alex started hosting these Happy Hour events at the INFOMART. I attended event #2 way back in July and have attended probably 5 or 6 others since. I've met some really cool people - people like Giovanni Gallucci, Andres Fabris, Scott Harper, and lots of others that may or may not want their names revealed :) I'm having breakfast and lunch this week with two people I've met from there and met with two others last week that I've met at these events.

Alex is kind enough to do both the organizing and, in many cases, pick up the tab for the drinks. Alex - I raise my glass to you and just want to say, "Thank you for taking the time." Cheers and best wishes for a wonderful 2009.
