Are IT Jobs Recession Proof?

I ran into a post over on Mint's blog today that listed the top 5 recession proof careers of the next decade. #2 and #3 are of interest:

• Networking/System Administration
  
• Computer Software Engineers/Applications

The Bureau of Labor Statistics is projecting that both of the careers will grow dramatically over the next five years with Networking/System Administration adding more jobs than any other profession, 773,000 to be exact.
