Rackspace is down (again)
- by Scott Whigham on December 18, 2009 3:51 PMLearnItFirst.com hosts its IT training videos over at Rackspace and, due to unknown issues, the LearnItFirst site is unavailable due to Rackspace being down. 2009 hasn’t been the smoothest year for Rackspace – this makes the fourth big Rackspace outage of the year.
- June 29, 2009 – power failures at a data center caused an outage
- July 7, 2009 – more power failures at a data center caused an outage
- November 3, 2009 – Rackspace’s Cloud Sites and Slicehost went down due to power problems
- December 18, 2009 – Unknown as of this writing (it only happened three minutes ago!)
This isn’t an isolated LearnItFirst.com issue; it affects tons of people (TechCrunch is offline now too).
Looks like I was first in the twitterscape to break “the story” – lucky me! I beat @yrrenus by at least two full seconds :)
Within ten minutes, there were more than 100 tweets about Rackspace being down! I frigging love Twitter!
Oh - and for the record, I love Rackspace too! The downtime thing has to go but I trust they will fix this quickly. Even with the downtime, I have never been happier with a web host.
Boo Rackspace! Did their outages take a long time to fix in the past? Out site is down! :(
Rackspace is down again now (10 PM GMT, 12/18/2009).
I called the 24/7 hours, they said, yes, it's down (without me telling them my website )
seems a major down in a week
even their website is slow. but still says "100% uptime guarantee from the World hosting leader. 24/7 Support!"

Definately, I'd watch out for Alan Cohen and David Hausdorff they are very likely to steal your money.
great post here, I really found it very informative. I have been teaching myself iPhone programming for a couple of months now. I'm thinking of switching to Android, though, because dealing with Apple's paradigm is kind of a hassle.
